JULY 4TH – MESSAGE FROM SECRETARY ON FACEBOOK

Hello to all Associate members,

just a reminder that this is the 4th of July weekend coming up and the range is going to be super busy.
Remember safety 1st.
– Anyone at the range should always wear Ear and Eye protection. You should also wear a hat or cap to keep that hot brass from hitting you on your head and face.
-all parties should never charge their weapon until they are on the range line and weapons are pointed down range.
– Make sure that you do not begin shooting at the 25 if someone else is further down range in front of you. Everyone should progress at the same speed/distance. This may require a bit of a wait but it is always SAFETY FIRST.
– No children should be running around unsupervised near the range. If your kids are with you designate an adult to go out front under our beautiful pecan trees and watch them while they play. Teach them responsibility at a young age and they will grow into responsible gun owners.
– Stay hydrated. With temperatures soaring into the high 80’s it is easy to get out there shooting and having fun and forget how much water your body is losing. Heat exhaustion is no fun. Drink lots of water.
– Although it seems monotonous, each time you come to the range take a few minutes to just read the rules over again that are posted. This is a great learning experience for young adults and it never hurts to remind ourselves what we need to do.
– Throw your used cardboard in the trash, DO NOT put it back in the shed.
– Pick up any brass you eject and put in our collection bins under the gazebo or carry it home. If you leave it then Ron Bankston and the members that clean the property and keep it looking great have hours more work to pick up before they start cleaning.
Again, Happy 4th of July and thank you to our members both Active, Retired and Associate that have served our country in the past or are still serving to date. May God shine his blessings upon you and yours on this important holiday.
